Saturday - June 15

Multi Sport  Day

Andreas - last minute decision to arrive.
Andreas surprised us by showing up.  Apparently he had no plans come, but on Friday Big Air Jim happened to drive past him on his way out of Edmonton.  Andreas pulled into the South Edmonton Common parking lot and booked a flight.  He will be here until Wednesday.  He told me his girl friend isn't very happy with him.  I didn't even know he had one.....

Kent - working on the beach.  Want's me to tell the guy's at Dow
The forecast was for easterlies by 11:00 at Stevenson, then not much later in the day.
The gang all arrived in Stevenson to watch the Formula guys (Small, Light guys with huge boards and very large sails) sitting on the beach waiting for the wind to build.

Big Jim watching the East and West wind
John is still not to sure what to think of this group....
As we watched, the wind was blowing easterly in front of us, and westerly just to the right.  One guy had gone out earlier in and Easterly wind, and slogged back on a westerly - weird.  After a couple of hours sitting in the shade enjoying the beautiful scenery we packed up and headed back to the house.

Cam - Bulking Up
Ted - Relaxing

Ross and Kent went for a "World Class" Mountain Bike Ride, Handre, Mike, Cam, Brad and Blaine went for a 65k bike ride (Handre did the big hill a few extra times, just for fun....), John went for a hike and saw some incredible panoramic views, I went for a shorter bike ride, and the rest went golfing.

Blaine and his new bike (That Miss Canada doesn't know about...)

Brad - ready to go!
Handre
Ted - at the lookout between Hood River and Mosier
(sorry about the sweat on the lense....)
The girls were busy too - Lazelle went on a long bike ride (showing up all the guys...), and Karen went shopping downtown (probably the hardest workout of all of us..)

When we got back to the house, the wind had come up, so the gang headed down to the Event Site to check it out.  Ross went out on his Kite.  After a lot of humming and hawing...  Brad, Blaine, Big Jim, Big Air Jim, and Cam headed out on their big gear.  They had fun going back and forth, planning most (some) of the time....

Blaine - Got Planning

Brad - screaming jibe on the inside.

Blaine - nice form - look how forward he leans.

Forward lean!!!

Oops - maybe a bit too forward!

Styling a nice cartwheel entry

Head down - feet up!
I give him a 7 out of 10 for style!
Most of us sat on the beach and watched....

Watch out Brad - the SUP guy is catching you!

Slow down Blaine - The sign says 5mph!

Another nice jibe by the Bradmaster.

Big Jim

Big Air Jim had fun.

After taking some photos - a bunch of us went for Pizza.  More photos are available here.
The others sailed until almost dark and then went to 6th Street for dinner.

Back at the house, we entertained John by watching a bunch of our old windsurf videos - and listened to a major thunder storm outside.

Looking forward to better wind tomorrow.
